  Contact Springfield, they provided good customer service when I had my M1A.

  Sadlak NM guide rod is great, really smooths out the action. It is not a flat piece like the factory part, it is octoganal so the spring can't bind up.
  
  Brownell's has the part. I think $40.00. Money well spent if you have a M1A.[:)]

  Just have to ask. Were you taking apart your M1A on the edge of a cliff?

  I am a old critter with only one hand that works across the room was a fireplace when i removed the pin the guide sailed across the room when i found it it was red hot from being in the fire
