Iver Johnson 20ga. SxS
I have an Iver Johnson hercules grade sxs in 20gauge. i like to use it for rabbit hunting but the forend falls off easily. i was thinking of extending the screw into the barrel a little bit but hate to devalue the gun.. any suggestions?

with the barrel in the position shown in your picture, take a small ball peen hammer and gently tap the edge of the locking block down a little. this will create more tension on the forend iron spring. 0 -
hello You can also take the screws out of the forearm wood. then remove the metal parts from the wood. the bar that engages The barrel lump has a slight curve to it . If you make the bar slightly straighter it will Latch tighter I dont like to HAMMER on gun barrels. But like most things there is more then one way to FIX a problem I like to modify a part that is easy/cheap[:0] to REPLACE if I mess up.[^] 0 -
hello Karl, you are correct. always more than one way to get to the post office...cheers my friend 0
