I have 2 of them both engraved factory cheshire gun one is sn 45-798 the other is sn MARSHALL. no numbers just letters as shown Any idea the significance of the odd sn Both came in velvet lined mahogany boxes

  Many of the outfits that made guns on a semi-custom, low production basis. Gave the buyers the option of picking their specific serial number, as long as it met the legal requirements as outlined by the feds in their regs.

  I agree with Rufe Snow I even had a Caspian 1911 with my name as a serial at one time.Someone else wanted it more then me after I used it as a base for a match pistol.
