WW 2 German knives/daggers
Well I don't see many knives on this forum but I though I would give it a try. A close friend is back visiting his family and is going through some stuff his late father brought back from Germany during the war. These are the knives/daggers/sword pics he sent me. They were taken with his phone and are not very good. I know a little about guns and next to nothing about knives/edged weapons. I will post pictures of the guns later as he is bringing some of them back and I can take better pictures then. I don't have much background on these so anyone who can help tell us what they are would be appreciated.
Edit #1 They are the real deal and not fakes! He was a pilot and forward air controller in Germany. My friend remembers them and played with them when he was a child. And there is a coating of grease on the blades to prevent any rust, he says the blades look to be in better shape than the pictures show. There is also a built up patina. He simply took pictures of them, he did not clean them.
Edit #2 45er, Thanks fo the link. I found them all. Don't know value but doesn't matter as they won't be selling them. The first one is a Second model Luftwaffe dagger, the second one is a SA dagger, and the sword is a German Third Reich "NAZI" Dove Head Saber.
If anyone has any additional info I would love to hear of it.

Actually the pictures turned out better than I thought. I'll ask him to send me more detailed ones. He says they are rather valuable and I believe him. I'll post some pictures of the Mauser pistol he said his father took right off the factory floor later.

If they are the real mccoy, i.e. not outright fakes or replicas, and in excellent condition they would indeed be valuable. The photos aren't very good but it appears the blades of both daggers aren't in good shape.
Best bet IMHO is to find a pro, either a advanced collector or honest dealer for a hands on.0 -
The first dagger is a Luftwaffe dress dagger; the second is a typical Party dagger...both look in not so good shape. Neither is rare. Not sure about the Nazi sword. Hope this helps. 0 -

Others may be along to help more. I agree with rufe-- 1st dagger seems to be pitted. 2nd dagger, (one of a few different/time period variation of the same style), looks to suffer being marked having been drawn in/out of the sheath quite a bit.
Both types of blemishes detract collector value. I know nothing about swords.

I had that second one about 35 years ago.A friends father spent his time in the army during WWII looting Germany.The one i had had a black sheath with silver braid wraped around it and the wood on the dagger was black.A third friend owns it now.I see alot of reproductions nowadays with pot metal blades.
