Has anyone ever shot this brand of ammo before?

If so, please give your opinion of it.

  Make sure it's the late production, polymer coated stuff. Buy as much as you can get your hands on.

  You'll often hear Wolf referred to as being very 'dirty' ammo, but this actually isn't due to it's powder.
  
  Simply put...
  
  Brass is much more 'flexible', so when the round is fired a brass case will expand and seal against the chamber walls during those microseconds that gas pressure is highest and the bullet is being pushed down the barrel. It then springs back down a bit in size when this pressure drops, just before extraction begins.
  
  Steel cases don't have this expansion/contraction ability, meaning they don't seal against gases forced rearward, which results in a much greater amount of deposits ending up un the chamber area.
  
  This is no problem if you clean the chamber area properly after using this sort of ammo, but leaving one after firing a large amount of steel cased ammo and then firing brass cased can potentially cause issues.
  
  If a large amount of carbon buildup remains that softer brass expanding against the cruddy chamber wall may now become sticky to extract, which can result in the torn rim/stuck case issues we hear about from Wolf.
  
  As I said, this won't become an issue as long as you properly clean the chamber area after shooting lots of steel cased ammo. People just need to be aware of it's characteristics and the potential consequences.

  I consider Wolf to be "dirty" ammo due to the powder reidue left in the bore. Has nothing to do with the carbon smudges on the outside of the case. The European powder seems to be one step up the ladder from charcoal in terms of soot and crud.

  Wolf .223 ammo is fine, but I typically only run it through AK pattern rifles, figuring that those are designed to run steel case ammo.

  In terms of pure dirtiness, I haven't noticed any more or less fouling/carbon with the rifle ammo than with other types.
  
  But Wolf .45ACP handgun ammo (which for all I know is made in an entirely different factory than the rifle ammo) definitely left my gun covered in much more black soot than usual .45ACP.
  
  In general, I won't run steel case ammo through handguns, but in this case, the store owner was nice enough to throw in a box free when I bought the gun (on Gunbroker, by the way), so I figured one box would be OK. Apart from the dirtiness the ammo ran 100%, by the way.
