    Try this,,,,,

To remove the bolt, check that it's unloaded etc. then close bolt and pull trigger.
Push forward on trigger and draw bolt rearward out of the receiver. When withdrawing bolt, lift rear of bolt up slightly to clear comb of stock.

To reassemble bolt to receiver, slide bolt into receiver with flat side down.
align lug on underside of bolt handle with slot in receiver.
while holding trigger back, push bolt all the way forward into receiver.

That seems to work, thanks. To remove I pull the trigger, then push the trigger forward with the bolt in & down. Lift the bolt handle and out she comes, very easy. If I then keep the trigger pressed forward it goes in easy too. If I release the trigger with the bolt out & push the trigger forward -the bolt goes in, but with a little resistance & jiggle. I think the small tab at the front of the bolt and the mating surface of the bolt release tab in the receiver are a touch too sharply angled. I'll get used to it but may soften the leading edge of that tab on the bottom of the bolt.

Darn, you'd think that after 45 years of shooting I'd be able to handle removing a bolt from a 22.[}:)]
