1892 cimarron-chiappa

I have an 1892 cimarron saddle ring carbine made by chiappa and purchased a large loop from their eldorado model. the loop lever has a lot of side to side play. does any one know of a remedy for this problem.

  Washers. Like shims on the sides of the lever using the lever screw to keep it in place. I reckon I'd try using something like a Coke can to make the washer/shim.
  
  You can buy a after market loop lever.

  Brute, welcome to the forum...
  
  Not an expert and not sure how the finger lever is pinned to the trigger plate on a Cimmeron, but should be not too different from other lever-actions.
  Yosh hit on what I was thinkin. A good hardware store may have super thin washers, to use one on each side of the lever screw. Maybe in brass, as they come thinnner.
  If slop is beyond the lever's hinge-pin up into the action, then cannot think of an answer, other than is inherent of the particular rifle's design?
  
  For what is worth, having owned both Marlin & Winchester levers from used vintage to newer production, the Marlins have usually been tighter/smoother. Not a big deal-- they all do their duty.

  Shims would help. Ream holes, stake in proper sized bushings to correct for both the width and fit on screw/pin.
