3030 ted Williams/ Winchester
I just bought a Ted Williams/Winchester 30/30 from a guy that needed the money. I am not a big time hunter but it seemed a good deal ($125.00)
It has, of course, regular "iron sights".
I was wondering if any of you have had any luck with upgrading the sights or if a "red dot" will work?

Dovetail firesight set is what I would go with if you want to keep it looking somewhat original.0 -
Unless the receiver is already D & T'd for side mounts? Your best bet if you want to use a Red Dot, is to get one of the scout mounts.
They are aluminum, machined with a Weaver rail. It utilizes the rear sight dovetail on the barrel. Far as I know no gunsmithing is required, other then drifting out the rear sight and replacing it with the scout mount.0 -

I bought a pre-war '94 which had an ultra-butchered rear sight, and I changed the sights to Hi-Viz. Made me want to change the sights on some other guns too, as those things show up against any background, in anything resembling light. [:)]0 -
Anyone know if the Ted Williams was made in .32 Special? I have seen a number of them in .30-30, but never .32 Special. The .32 would be kind of cool to have. 0
