The rim diameter of the 9mm cartridge is approximately .030 smaller than the 40 S & W. The breech face and extractor of the G 26 is dimensioned for the smaller diameter 9mm cartridge. Not likely your going to get a 40 S & W cartridge to work in a G 26 because of this, IMHO.

    No. I don't think a G27 barrel will even fit in a G26.

    The opposite is semi-true.

If you have a 40sw g27, you can get an aftermarket 9mm conversion barrel and use g26 magazines to effectively convert that gun into 9mm. This won't work with a stock G26 barrel.

Another reason you can't expect a 9mm to 40SW conversion with just a barrel swap.

Incidentally, this is exactly why IMI invented the .41AE caliber. . .to run a .40 caliber round through a 9mm breech. Its sort of an accident of history that the .40SW caught on instead of this one.

you can go down in caliber with guns in the same frame size. so you can go from 40 to 9, but you cant go from 9 to 40. the barrel wont fit.

if its just for range work, thats all you need to change. it wont run super reliably, but it will run.

if you want it to run with the classic glock reliability, then you need to do the extractor and ejector as well.
