savage 99 barrel band carbine
on my savage carbine, does the screw that holds the barrel band go through from left to right, the same as a winchester carbine? in pictures i have found, there are some going right to left. were they all the same? thanks

It goes in from the side that isn't threaded ! 0 -

Dane.. I'd follow Winchesters lead and install left to right.. I did a quick image search and found these..

The barrel band can be install either way so you do have a good question. Mine runs left to right.0 -

Then the answer would be that the screw can be installed either way depending upon how the barrel band is installed.
One wonders if Savage installed them uniformly or however the band happened to go on.0
