Sig 1911 trigger interchangeable with others?
Is the Sig 1911 trigger specific to that manufacturer or will other 1911 triggers fit and function in the Sig?

Is it not a 1911? If it is, then anything is possible. However, they are not all plug-n-play. They must be fitted by someone who knows what they are doing.

You have added what, other than you don't know, and go check? I might suggest, untill you have something to add, not to criticize, and do some research, or get some experience(seeing since you seem to have neither), until you do have something to add.
A 1911, or 1911A1, is a single stack handgun, based on John M. Browning's design of the 1911 Colt pistol.
Incase you did not know, it has been around for 101 years, and happens to be the most customized firearm in history. However, as I stated in my so called recovery, that the parts must be fitted by someone who knows what they are doing. This was not a recovery, but a reminder that they must be fitted, to make sure they function properly, and are safe.
There are a slew of aftermarket parts, along a lot of custom builders like Wilson, Les Baer, Clark, Fusion, and others, that offer parts, and complete guns. I might suggest that area to start your research.

It is a 1911, yet all parts do not interchange with your GI 1911A1. I could suggest looking at Brownells or Midway to see if they offer seperate triggers, or if they are all the same product number. The fire control system consist of a number of parts Trigger,.Sear,Disconnector,Hammer, 3 leaf flat Spring and Safety .of course you also have the holes drilled in the frame and the hammer and sear pins that FIT in these frame holes. If you don't have a good mechancial understanding of how these parts interact. Then you can end up with an unsafe pistol By just swapping PARTS.[V][:(!][xx(][:(]
editthe trigger itself is the one part that most likely you could change without causeing an unsafe pistol as long as you install all the other parts exactly the same way as they were originally installed . You will have to remove a number of parts first. The ones I listed above this edit.If you dont know how to remove the magazine release a note of warning there is a small screw slot you will need a small screw driver to turn this item. HOWEVER it is NOT a screw it is a pin with a tab. It will only turn 90 degrees you will need to push the magazine release in turn 90 degrees to get it out of the frame.

I picked up a Sig TacOps 1911 and it has a plain aluminum trigger, while the rest of the pistol is matte black, just looks like it doesn't belong. I want to pick up a black trigger and install it simply for aestetics (sp?).0 -
Any aftermarket trigger should work fine; I've used Wilson Combat and Ed Brown units. Ed Brown sells one that is purposefully a little oversized, takes a little filing and stoning, but it can be made to fit like a glove. 0
