Simmons rangefinders

I have a buddy interested in their LFR 600 model, can anyone tell me anything about it? He's looking at a used model for $75.00.
Any advice will be appreciated.

  Don't do it...he will be out $75.00, unless he makes sure it is in good working order first. The Nikon would be my first line entry level suggestion, and they go up from there.
