Old DB Shotgun Peterlongo
I aquired an old double barrel side by side shotgun and i was hoping for some help from the experts on how old it is and maybe it's worth.
I was told it was a 20 gauge and pre WW1, it has double triggers, hammerless, rear tang safety.
Top of right barrel has TIROLER WAFFENFABRIK
Top of left barrel has JOHANN PETERLONGO INNSBRUCK
The only other thing i can see without taking it apart is the numbers 2204 between the end of the firearm and sling stud on the bottom between the barrels. The stock is cracked and one of the triggers has been broke and brazed back together but other than that it is in prety good shape. by looking at the end of the barrels, right one looks a bit bigger (without measuring) maybe modified ? and the left barrel looks smaller maybe full choke ? It also has shell extractors.
I will post some pictures when i get a chance.

Remove the forarm, then take the barrels out of the frame. The bottom of the barrels should have proof marks, and probably more information. Good, close up pictures of all the stampings and markings on the action and barrels will help us figure out what you have.

After taking the forearm off, it has the same numbers on the barrel side of the forearm 2204. On the bottom of the barrel on the right it has a mark unreadable without a magnifing glass and says CHOKE 16.4/16.9 .. Left barrel has 16.9
It seems very well built and in it's day i would say was costly, it is the best feeling gun i've ever put to my shoulder.0 -

Although the shotgun has Austrian retailer's markings externally, the Proof Marks on the watertable and barrels are Belgian. As the Belgian shotguns imported and sold in the U.S. prior to the First World War, most likely it's a basic economy model.
EDIT #1, The Crown over ELG in an oval, on the barrels, is a Belgian smokeless powder proof mark. It dates to the early 1890's. When the Germans invaded and occupied Belgium in 1914, the production of sporting firearms ended. Because of the above, your shotgun was made between these two dates.0 -

I bought it from a friend of mine, and his neighbors uncle brought it and a .22 back from WW1.
the .22 is not in real bad shape but missing the rear sight, it is a breakdown with the lever on the side, hammer, with a set trigger and firing trigger, barrel is octagon up to the forearm then round to the tip .. didn't buy it. Any more information on the shotgun would be apreciated. Thanks !0 -
"JOHANN PETERLONGO INNSBRUCK".........was a well know pre ww1 gunsmith/sporting goods dealer (google is your friend). He/they had several propriatory cartidges. As noted your shotgun was made in Belg. and sold by them, not a lot of collector interest. 0 -

It is also a 16ga....dont see any chamber length markings so figure it has less than 2 3/4in....also dont see any smokeless/nitro proof marks, just black powder proof....Id have it looked over by a gunsmith that knows older doubles B4 shooting it.... 0
