    Buffing is very skilled hand work using different progressively finer abrasives on a cloth wheel(s).

    Go to Brownells site, the sell all the necessary equipment, (it ain't cheap). They might also have some videos on their site demonstrating the processes.

    Do a lot of practicing on junkers, before you work on something you want to keep.

    many times you can get the same effect by hand polishing and many times you have to hand polish to make it look right. polishing prior to blueing is most of the work. whatever it looks like before blueing it will look like after blueing or worse. many times people think the blueing will cover blenishes, it won't. many times it will accent them. take your time. curves first flats last.
