remington double 1894
I have looked at a number of Remington sxs, and have not found any in 16 gauge. Mine is a model 1894 in 16 gauge and does NOT have Damascus barrels. condition is good, locks-up tight, both barrels are full choke, it does have some wear on stock, shoots well.Would like someone to tell me what its approximate value is.

They made 'em in 16 gauge. The Blue Book description reads as follows:
REMINGTON MODEL 1894 10.12 or 16gauge, "Remington" Ordnance or damascus steel barrels, auto ejectors, box lock , double triggers,checkered pistol grip or straight stock, Purdey forearm snap, Grades A,B,F and C have RACO hard rubber butt plate, Grade D has horn butt plate, Grade E horn or steel heel and toe plates, Grade is usually stamped on water table. 16 and 10 gauge are considered scarce and will command a higher value. (There you go.) 41,194 made between 1894 and 1910 in the 100,000 serial number range.
Values for the lowest grade AE, given are:
100%-$2,000, 98%-$1,800, 95%-$1,600, 90%-$1,300, 80%-$1,200, 70%-$1,000
60%-$800, 50%-$675, 40%-$550, 30%-$375m 20%-$275 and 10%-$225.
The book does not say how much to add for 16 gauge. It does say to add 25 % for "Ordnance" barrels.0
