Remington Speedmaster 552

I'm looking for a forearm stock for my little Speedmaster. Does anyone have any idea where I can get one?

  What can be done to repair the groves in the top of a Speedmaster 552 receiver. The gun had a scope mounted on it and was dropped damaging the groves on both sides. The will not hold a scope mount.
  
  Can the receiver be drilled and tapped ? Is there enough metal for the screw depth into the receiver?

  Is it a steel receiver? Some times you can flow the metal back into place with a punch, move rings a little to get onto some undamaged area. IIRC its very thin metal, not likely to hold well with just screws in from the top to hold on a newly added on tip off base.
  
  Perhaps countersunk screws from the inside to hold new base.

  The hammer and punch is a good sugestion. Go slowly and take your time. Had an ungroved reciever groved once but don't know if that would work. Also you can epoxy scope bases on a .22. Done all the time. Loc Tite Black Max #380 is supposed to work well. It can be removed with a heat gun.

  Receiver is not Steel it is an alloy of some type probably Aluminum

  If you want, I be glad to send you one of these free of charge. it is about 3.5" long and should be close to the contour of the top of your 552. You can sand the bottom of it and the top of the receiver to use epoxy, or drill and tap it on. If you want it, email me your info. It is aluminum.
