Win. 37 ?
Will the Win. 12 ga. firing pin and spring assembly interchange with my 16 Ga.

I'm familiar with the M37 16 ga, but have no reference for the 12 ga, so I'm not aware if they are the same or not. 0 -

Stretching a spring that has lost its temper due to compression generally doesn't add to it's strength. I'll take a look at the 16ga 37 and see how it compares to parts pictures. 0 -
Above is a photograph of a 16ga M37. I couldn't find a parts schematic in my reference material, but it appears likely that the hammer spring would interchange with other gauges. According to a rough measurement the spring has OD of 3/8" & is slightly over 1" in length. A spring that would fit on the shaft and provide sufficient push should work, but it appears that putting it in would take an act of congress.0 -
Re: mainspring replacement. Drill hole in guide for small pin, mount guide in vise on mill/drill press and compress coil spring with jaws of drill chuck and insert small pin. Install assembly and pull out pin. 0 -

No way to find a replacement spring on guesses. You must know the length, diameter, wire gauge, and coils per inch.
If I can find it I will look in my Brownell's encyclopedia. I am sure they have the gun in there and may have the data on the parts.0 -

Brownells Encyclopedia only shows one part number for this spring. Multiple part numbers are shown for gauge specific parts, stocks, barrels extractors etc. 0 -
