Re: Davy Crockett's Rifles at the Alamo

The rifles on display at The Alamo almost cetainly belonged to Crockett. His widow and son lived in Texas in what is now known as Granbury and could easily have identified them.

There is less chance that Crockett actually used the rifle on display. Follow the link and you can see where Crockett sold two rifles to The Republic of Texas shortly before the battle. Meaning there were most likely three Crockett rifles at the battle.

So if he gave one to his son, sold two, then kept one for himself, that accounts for four rifles.
