Powder Speer uses for short barrel loads
Speer has 9MM +P loads specially for short barrels, low flash, max performance in short barrel guns. aAny one know what powder they are using? Is it commercially available?

Commercial ammo manufacturers do not use canister powders. 0 -
A manufacturer will have powders blended to match specific pressure and burn-rate curves. These are not released for public sale for a variety of reasons - mostly liability concerns and desire to get buyers for the completed product not just the component. BTW I have been using their load in my Kahr PM9 and it is excellent! 0 -
Several years ago spent alot of time and effort working up a load for 2" S&W J frames in 38 special. I came up with the following, it shoots 2" at 15 yards in every Smith & Taurus 2" revolver I have tried it in.
158 gr Hornady XTP
8.4 grs BlueDot
CCI 550 primer
I went with the small magnum primer to light all of the powder befor it gets out of the barrel. There is not excessive muzzel flash with this load.
I am thinking the same principle can be applied to short barreled 9mm.
