Help with gorilla hands!!
Hello Folks,
I haven't been on the forum for a bit but I have a question that I'd like to pose and it will save me some running around! My son, who has as large or even larger hands than I do is starting to shop for a deer/elk rifle...possibly bolt action or maybe semi-auto. His FIRST concern is that the "wrist" of the stock is large enough to fill his hand! He has found the Remington 700 to be too thin/narrow and would like some suggestions from you all! He is looking at BAR, BBR, Montana Rifle Co. Winchester and Ruger M77 as examples. The Browning Safaris are a close fit.....suggestions??? Happy Holidays to all

I'd be more concerned with the length of pull and the amount of drop over the wrist diameter. Perhaps he could stich on a leather unit like the cheak piece for the old sniper rifles.
Or he could add some bondo to form fit a fiberglass stock.0 -
The Browning Abolt II has a feeling nice palm swell, I don't know of any other make/model with that as a standard feature. 0 -
Don't Tika stocks have a palm swell ? I know the big hand feeling , hard to find a glove that fits ! 0 -
The CZ line of rifles have a large body stock 0 -
If a semi auto, perhaps something with a pistol grip like an AR10 pattern, and you can replace the pg with a houge or similar?
If a bolt gun, then maybe replacing the stock wtih something like the "tacticool" stock from Boyds?
