Heard a lot of good things about the Sig 522. Lots of information and reviews on the net and U tube. 0 -
The S&W 15-22 is a good one since they got the bugs out [;)]
You can use a lot of AR parts in them.0 -
I've heard a lot of good things about the S&W, not so good about the Colt/Umarex. 0 -
rhino43,
You might want to take a look at this link.

Then think about a real AR lower, and a dedicated upper.

This.
If the whole point of having a .22 conversion is to get trigger time for the "real deal", then what could be better than having a real .22 unit on top of your AR?
Cost of a dedicated upper should be similar to a .22 AR15 lookalike with similar (or better) performance, and better feel.0 -

I have the Sig 522, and let me tell you, that is an awesome gun! I put a inexpensive optic from Midway on it, and it shoots very accurately, i'm very satified with it!0 -
The rimfire specific AR style rifles just didn't do it for me. Plastic or poly where it shouldn't be, different weight and different feel. I went with a "real AR" lower and attached a CMMG rimfire upper with a few tweaks to make it identical to a centerfire version. There are other dedicated uppers out there, Nordic makes a very good upper too.
As an aside, I'd skip the "chamber insert" drop in type. Long bullet jump and a rate of twist incorrect for the rimfire doesn't bode well for good accuracy.0 -
You could always just buy a cmmg 22 conversion for an AR, if you already have one! 0 -
GSG-5 does it for me! 0
