1896 BUEHLER STYLE SAFETY IN 1893 MAUSER?

I have an 1893 Mauser Sporter that has scope base & rings with altered bolt. Want to install a Buehler style safety. I asked seller of an 1896 Buehler Style safety if it'd work in an 1893 Mauser. He said YES. Is this so? Without any modifications?

  yes this will work. Mauser models 92/93/94/95&96 all use similar parts, the safty's will interchange and the buehler will work in all of them

  I had to take off a small portion on the front edge of the safety lever in order to get over the ridge of the bolt sleeve on the 1893 Mauser. Once done everything works! Shaft of safety is correct in diameter, length & notch. Smooth & positive....
