remington 1100 misfire?
Have a remington 1100 12ga. that misfired a couple of days ago, put in another shell and it fired, i disassembled it today to clean it and it did not appear that the pin was broken, after giving it a good cleaning and oil i re-assembled and tried firing a couple of rounds but would not fire,it sounds as if the hammer is hitting the pin, any feedback on another possible cause? Thanks

You could have a problem in the hammer zone, that would block the full forward travel of hammer. The bolt is fully closed. You tried some differnt ammo. Do you see any indent on the primer. If they are reloads is the base flat or resessed from too much pressure seating primer?0 -
New "o" ring. Bolt is not going closed. 0 -
upting date here, after posting here i went back out with some more ammo and did some more testing, the loads i was testing were factory #8 dove loads, however the gun did fire this time after shooting 6 loads, it also fired the shells it initially misfired with, As duck hunter mentioned i did install a new o ring and the bolt may not have engagaed all the way, i loaded a shell directly into the chamber and let the bolt release fly shut and now it seems to be doing fine. I will do some more testing tomorrow and keep the forum posted. I Thank you for the replys 0
