Winchester Statue of Liberty Commemorative
Hello All,
I own a Winchester Statue of Liberty Commemorative rifle. It came with the hand carved, 24" high wooden Statue of Liberty with "Sandrini 86" carved on the back of the vertical base.
In all of the information that I could find these rare commemorative rifles had a serial number that started with the letters SL. My rifle's serial number is DJW1. It has been signed on the receiver by Bottega C. Giovanelli, and has the number 000/100. It also has what looks to be "Inc. G. Fausti" engraved on the receiver.
Can anyone tell me more about this rifle?

I am no expert on commemoratives but I found this very interesting. It may or not hold water in the real market.

I'm very familiar with the Roth brothers and most of the Winchester commemoratives. It just looks like this Statue of Liberty was made especially for someone with the initials DJW. 0 -
"Inc" would be an abbreviation for "Incisore", Italian for "engraver".
"Bottega" is Italian for "workshop".
The 000/100 means that it is a special order one-of-a-kind. So, I would say that it is unique USRA rifle, copied from the Statue of Liberty specs used for the cataloged order. I suspect only the original owner & his dealer can tell you more.

It's listed in the Blue Book as a USRAC factory commemorative. Only 62 were manufactured, circa 1986. They were made on a special order basis, with the customer specifying the serial number.
My older BB prices them at $8,750 as long a it's NIB, untouched, unfired, unhandled with all original packaging and documentation.0 -

It"s at $7500 in the 27Th edition of the BB.0 -
Thank you very much everyone for the information. I have looked it up in the Twenty Ninth Edition of the Blue Book and the 100% condition is listed at $8750. My rifle is complete with all of the original packaging, the statue and the optional walnut/glass display case.
I have twelve more rifles to find and then I will have the complete set of US, Canadian and European Winchester Commemoratives listed in the Blue Book.
