Smith 29-2 barrel ?
When Smith & Wesson blued their revolvers I suspect they were blued after barrel was installed into frame to insure same blueing depth for all parts. If you see a 29-2 with a slightly darker barrel bluing than the frame is it probably a replacement or is this common?

You are mistaken.. All Smith and Wesson parts are blued individually , They are batch blued so all the parts of the gun are even but they are not blued after assembled. (threads on the barrels are blued to prevent rust) Replacement barrels may not be the same color on that you are correct. 0
