Winchester 87 Barrel
I have a nice Winchester model 87 12 gauge that has been refinished many years ago. The barrel is very deeply pitted, I want to replace it. Seeing as how it's lost it's colecter value, can I put a after market barrel off a Norinco on it? Will it fit?
I just placed an ad on the want ads forum, but I'm thinking 87 barrels are as scarce as honest poloticians. The gun is a family heirloom, so I plan on keeping it, just want to make it shootable, with the proper low base loads.
Thanks for the help.

IF it fits, this may help you. In Canada they were sold with 22" barrels and in Europe/Germany, they had 28" barrels.

or you could have a gunsmith fit a new 12 ga. barrel. or a used barrel with enought metal to rethread for the 87. I have a VERY low opinion of the chinese copies in general. 0 -
I haven't heard much good about thier 87s or 97s. I have a Winchester 97 C thats 102 years old, works like a champ, action is smooth as a baby's butt.
I am just thinking out load, it's going to be hard to find a factory 87 barrel.
