mule deer cape?
I shot my first mule deer last year and had it mounted. I'm looking for other opinions in regards to the cape. To me it does not appear that the taxidermist that worked on the mount used the correct cape. I'm looking to get other taxidermists' opinions or folks familiar with mule deer capes/mounts. I can be reached at shawnz007@yahoo.com. I have before and after pictures that I can email. Thanks.

Is it his work, or the cape that You are not Happy with.
After a Deer Hide is Tanned, it will then stretch, so if its the sise, then He could of used the wrog sise FORUM, but then after it drys its to late, and the only thing that can be done is to remount the antlers on a new cape.
I do not know, unless you marked it of any way to tell if He used your Cape.
Did you measure your cape befor you taken it to him.
Your Pictures will not Help any one unless you have the Measurements
befor that you taken it to your Taxermesty
PS. This is one subject that I am an EXPERT on.0 -
No, I don't think it's his work of the cape. I think he got the wrong cape back from the tanning company. The buck I shot had a real big neck (in rut) and the mount is a lot smaller. He said he marked the cape. No measurements, just pictures. 0 -
Sorry;
Pictures do not have any size on them.

Did you take him the head and neck, or just the head and skinned cape, or even the skinned head/cape only? 0
