sprinfield omega

i have been looking around on the internet for info on my sprinfield omega match in 10mm. i am finding that there are very few for sale and the ones that are for sale no one is buying, and all the forums i find are last posted years ago. is there some reason no one is buying selling or discussing these guns anymore?

    No offense meant, but this is ancient history as far Springfield is concerned. Probably nobody working their now, was around in the late 80's when they imported these pistols. They were made by Peters-Stahl in Germany. As I recall they were kind of on expensive back then, and didn't sell all that well.

    You might try GOOGLEing Peters-Stahl, and see what comes up. I believe their still in business in the fatherland.

    Considering the time lapse since they were last sold in the U.S. Probably the on-line auctions would be your best bet for parts. Who knows, you might luck out and run across some guy who is parting out one of them.

    It depends on what kind of parts you are looking for. The top end, consisting of the slide and barrel, or the bottom end, meaning the frame, and controls. The lower end, is a basic 1911 thru, and thru. The top end would be what Perte Stahl made.

    Actually they were a little top heavy on the price at first, then the price drpped drastically when they weere not selling, and discontinued. The Peters-Stahl unit on top, is a vast improvement over the Bren-Ten, and Delta Elite.

    At any rate, you have a fine pistol, and the reason you don't see many, are that the people that have them, like them, know what they have, and hold on to them.

    IMHO, the 10mm Norma, is the king of autopistol rounds for shootability, inherent accuracy, and horsepower. A lot of folks do not realize what anything but the SQUIB FBI loas is, in 10mm.

    Is it truly an Omega Match or are you incorrectly going by the Colt's NM prefix? The standard Omega's are dual extractor and are capable of barrel conversion kits and just say Omega on them. Also, many are two-tone. The Omega Match says that on the slide and has a single extractor.

    There are no parts available for them is the main reason for little movement. If they break, you are out of luck... I have two Match's and would like to acquire another one if you are interested and the price is right. I am a very avid 10mm fan.
