This has been my experience. 10 rd stainless metal(OEM) Promag worked.
NO other Promag has ever worked in anything. Mags I purchased from DK Mags have all worked. The stainless were the best. Somewhere I picked up a blue 25 rounder that worked and I was told that it might be one made by Madsen. MC

I reckon swaping out the after market 30 round magazine follower with Magpul ones would fix almost everything. Get a Wolff spring and it'll be 100%.

I have both a 14 and a 30 and I have had them for many years. I also work where we have 60 mini 14's out and about. The local Sheriff's office has over 800 of them out and about. Our experience is the same when it comes to the Ruger mags.

As pricy as they are (Look at CDNN, decent price there) I'll always say stick with Ruger factory mags. IMHO some of the others MIGHT work, the Ruger factory mags WILL work.

When I owned a Mini the only mags that were worth a darn were Ruger factory mags and one from Eagle. Triple K mags sucked!!

I have a stainless Mini 14 I picked up used with several 20 and 30 round magazines from various manufacturers and none of them worked reliably, which is why he probably sold the rifle. I've never had a problem with Ruger mags.

I was using an unknown brand from a gunstore and bought a few cause they seemed good. One messed up all of a sudden. Only trust the factory ones now.
