Help identifying this Springfield

This was received on consignment. The owner claims it to be a Model 1875 Officer's Model based on the barrel length of 26 inches. We're obviously very skeptical but have not seen another one to compare to. If anyone out there can tell us what this really is, it would be greatly appreciated. In case it helps, the serial number is 307155.

  No, it's not an Officer's Model. It's a cut-down rifle.

  Cut-downs are usually valued for their shooting
  quality (bore condition, etc.). Probably in the
  $300-400 range. HOWEVER, with the added Beech front
  sight and Lyman/Marbles tang sight those would add a
  premium or remove them and sell them separate
  (maybe $100 each?).
  
  For what it's worth, photos of an authentic OM are

  Serial Number places it in the early Model 1884 rifle range. If you can get hold of a copy of "Flayderman's Guide to Antique American Firearms", he has section on the 1884.
  
  The way it's been bubbaed, it would have no collectors interest, and would just be considered a "shooter". My WAG $250-$400 range.
