Headspace on a AR-15
I was told that headspace on a AR-15 is controlled by the barrel manufacturer. Is this true? Thanks, Steve G.

Not entirely. It is controlled by the barrelmaker (depth the chamber is cut to) and the one installing the barrel extension {added: usually the barrel-maker} (distance the boltface is kept at the face of the chamber. The distance of the boltface to the datum point on the shoulder is actual 'headspace'. It needs to be in spec as well as the chamber depth to make the rifle safe. 0
