Dan Wesson, what do I have?
I have a Dan Wesson Palmer stainless steel frame serial # 45S000XXX, does anybody know what I have? I think it's for a 45 long colt. I cannot find any info anywhere. Also if it is, does anybody know where I can get parts like cylinder & barrel / shroud? Thanks.

i will tell you this much, even if you do find the parts you are looking for, the cost of them will be far more than buying a complete gun. this is also to say that all the internals on the receiver are there and working. you would be money ahead by just selling the receiver as parts and using that money towards another gun. 0 -

The Palmer, NY Dan Wesson guns are usually the least desirable of all since 'supposedly' they took over the defunct Monson, Mass factory and continued manufacturing using fairly old and worn out machinery, thus the tolerances and workmanship wasn't up to the standard of the Monson, Mass guns.
That being said, if you were just missing the barrel/shroud/nut then you could probably get it up and running for between one and two hundred dollars. Missing the cylinder as well and you're starting to get into decreasing returns.
Sell what you have, it's probably a .44 mag not a .45 Colt, use the proceeds to get a complete revolver.

Got this off the net. Don't have a clue to what a Pork-Chop is? Years back I use to sell them, don't recall any Pork-Chop models.

Since the original poster has no clue as to what he has other then it being a Dan Wesson, please bare in mind that some of the Palmer guns did NOT have removable barrels meaning that some are fixed. That is why pictures are important. Also note that CZ is now making Dan Wesson's again in small numbers and are being sold for in the $1,200 price range. 0 -
A good picture would be 100% helpful! IF a monson gun, parts are readily available from DW. I called the otehr day about a part for a customer. With that said, go back to first sentence, a good picture is neeed and 100% helpful. 0 -
