1896 Krag

Are the stocks for Krag s interchange between years. I have a 1896 carbine that needs a stock. Can I use the 98 or 99 stocks. Thanks for your help!

Are there any marks on a Springfield Armory 1896 that tell if it is a true carbine or a cut down carbine? I can't post pictures.

Yes. They were manufactured 1896-1898 and replaced by the Model 1898.

Thank you Spider, that would have been my guess. I just wanted to be 100% sure before shipping it to a non-FFL.

You're welcome. Just be sure you don't ship it to a restricted area like NY City or New Jersey. They require an FFL to receive it.
