What kind of rifle is it?
We need to know what the twist is of the rifling.

If the twist is designed for round ball, then that is what you need to shoot.
Most .36 rifles are built for round ball.

What problem do you have with round ball?

    If it's a modern H&R underhammer gun, don't dismiss patched,round balls.
Within a few shots prone, I hit small round explosive targets at 100 yards. Using instructions from "For Beginners Only" from DGW, I lapped that barrel but don't know how much if any it improved accuracy.

I know that minie ball molds are made in .375, .445, and .533 but they are very hard to find. Try a custom mold maker like Rapine (if he's still in business) and for about $150 they should be able to set you up.
