223-5.56x45?

I have 2000rds.of nato 5.56x45.
Is it okay to fire through my new Ruger mini-14?
I have read that the 5.56 ammo is less than ideal to shoot in guns chambered for .223.
I have also heard this does not pertain to the mini-14.
At this time I am confused about what Ive been told regarding different pressures,twist,and bullit wieghts.
I was hoping someone would clear up this matter up for me.
My new syn/stainless mini is surprisingly accurate with .223ammo and I dont want to harm it by using unsuitable ammo.

  Fire away! The Ruger mini 14 is good to go with 5.56.

  To re-enforce what M1A said: "Hrmmph, fire any [bleep bleep] thing you want out of it", from the horse's mouth Bill Ruger when confronted with your same question.
  
  If I recall correctly, this was back in the '70's when the Mini first came out. Since then, aside from improved for accuracy as you stated, have not heard a peep in these 30-something years to prove Mr. Ruger wrong

  Have at it! I've been firing 5.56 and .223 through my Mini for ages.

  remember the division rule:
  2 goes inta 5
  but 5 doesn't go inta 2.
  
  Any gun labled for 5.56 can handle 223 but not necessarily vice versa.
  
  Ruger is the exception that proves the rule. [:D]
