Is this M-42 Factory with a White-line pad?
Or is it and aftermarket?

  It is not just the White-line pad that is questionable. The grip cap on the butt stock is not a Winchester item either. In looking at the checkering pattern on the stocks, that too is not Winchester original. Personally, I suspect that the stocks are not Winchesters.

  The rib doesn't look correct for the time period. Looks much more modern, as if it where done 20 years after the fact.

  If you read the add carefully, I believe the seller is NOT trying to pass it off as original. He does state "Simmons Gun co.", who did lots of work for Winchester. Also the use of the adjective, "traditional" suggests the checking is a version or gunsmiths take on winchester style checking.JMHO

  I read it as that He wants the Bidders to think that it is a collector, when He knows that it is an AFTRE-MARKET.and NOT WORTH 1/2
