    The stock, like the Model 7 FS, was made by Brown Precision. They were very light, fast handling, and hard kicking, depending upon what caliber.

    All of the FS series were made by Brown, weather it was a Model 7 or a Model 700. All had the hinged floor plate, and all had Classic style straight combs.

    Its worth depends on what kind of condition it is in. For just the rifle, in MINTY condidion, you can expect to pay $600.00-700.00 for anyone who knows what these are. These were a factory production rifle, not custom shop. The custom shop was 3-4 times as much, for just about the same rifle

    I never said that all of the 700 FS were BDL...NEVER. I said they had floor plates, and that is not the only thing that defines the BDL. Classic's, Mountain rifles, and a host of other's have BDL features. Yes I do understand that you called Big Green, and they said ADL. ADL's did not have a raised comb like the BDL either, but they also had a blind magazine.

    I do have a Model 7 FS in 308, and a Model 700 FS in in 7mm Rem Mag. They are both factory gun's, as I baught them new as a FFL dealer for myself. They BOTH have hinged floorplates.

    HI, Thanks. I was wondering who made the stocks on the 700 model, I heard they were made by Brown. Where they offered in ADl and BDL style? I seen one for sale in a 700 .243 ADL style in excellent condition and was wondering what it was worth? Where these custom shop guns, did they predate the KS customs they now offer?

    I don't think you are talking about the same thing. These guns were made in the late 80's and long before the 700 muzzle loaders. THanks

    HI, Look at auction number 312828133. I seen this local, it looks like an FS, but it is an ADL style no floor plate. I called Remington with teh serial number and they told me it was made in 1987, camo ADL. So the time is right to be an FS and the stock is factory and it looks like other Brown FS camo patterns I seen. But Since you stated all The FS a BDL, now I wonder what this is.

    BROWN ONLY used ADL BACK THEN. He did not like the Hinged Floorplate
    like the BDL has.
    Chet Brown is also an Elk hunted, He hunted in CO.
    I had Him build me a 6MM 700 Rem.Back then He charged $1750.Now the
    same Rifle He gets $3250.00
    McMillen charges the same as He built Me a 700 Rem. in 270 Win.Cal.

    Just for the record. I own one of the original Model 700 FS Camo/Mossy Oak/Swamp Grass etc., etc.,Etc. They were made back in the late 80's i believe between 87-89. They were a limited run and only came in long actions in 30-06 & .270 calibers. There is another one which a lot of times gets confused with this one and it was similar but there were distinct differences between the two. The FS was a full Camo pattern which covered the entire gun except for the floor plate & bolt which came in Matt black finish. Also note that this particular rifle the FS model came with a matching Scope. It was a Red Field WideField Low Profile and was also matched in the Camo pattern. The RS as it was know came in two different types, one Camo and the other was a dull Matt finish gray color. Here is the difference. This rifle only the stock was Camo or gray finished. The rest of the Gun/all metal was a Flat Matt Black finish. This particular model came in both long & short action. The one i had was in.243 caliber but i believe it also came in .308 Win. as well. I will be posting mine shortly on GB being i unearthed it yesterday along with a few others i have had for a very long time and it's time to pass them on as i do not collect anymore and or shoot these guns as well. Making room for some new ventures.
