Pistol Scope Rings - 20mm Dovetail Groove no Slots
I have a Competition Arms, Tucson, AZ (They didn't stay in business long after 1987.) single shot target pistol with 20mm dovetail grooves to mount a scope, which will take a Weaver scope ring, but there are no slots to hold the rings in place. So the rings start slowly slipping forward on the dovetail grooves after the first shot and this is for a >3 lb pistol shooting 357 magnum cartridges. I've thought about getting a scope recoil arrestor block like they have for spring pellet guns but what I really need is some advice on what the best scope rings that would work with this pistol's unslotted 20mm dovetail grooves without any gunsmith drilling/tapping or machining.
Thank You

spirits,
What you need to look for is an adapter rail for your pistol:
This has a full length clamping rail on the bottom with Weaver-style cross slots.
If you need another idea, I would call Dave Talley to get his input since he designs most of the rail rings for competition shooters.
