Why was Remington XHR discontinued?

Why was the Remington 700 XHR rifle with the triangled barrel discontinued? Poor sales or poor quality?

  did you ever try to thread a triangle barrel? not to mention it was over-priced. people dont like changes to items that have been a certain way for yrs. also, what advantage was there over conventional barrels?

  It was just another brain fart the marketing management, bean counter's, and engineering had at Big Green. It pretty much matched their track record, as of late.
