Leupold Adjusto Mount

Anyone know what a 42C and 82 base combination fits. The copy of the instructions that I have doesn't list it. Thanks

  Thanks to another forum member, I finally got a set of instructions for said mount. The instructions say to mount the adjustable ring on the rear with the knob on the right. In that set up the knob scrapes your thumb while loading. Is there any reason it couldn't be to the left rear other than the windage arrow being backwards or on the left front? It seems to me that the left front would be best, the windage arrow would be correct, windage adjusted on the front ring, elevation on the rear ring. That's the way I am planning on doing it unless I'm missing something.

  That's a tough one! I have several of these mounts. I have a 1955 reference list as well as a newer (date unknown) list and cannot find those numbers. Those mounts were made from 1954 to 1964 so, if I had to guess, I'd think those numbers were for a rifle introduced near the end of Adjusto Mount production.

  Thanks, I did find out that the donor rifle was a Swedish Mauser.

  That kind of surprises me. I would have thought the Swede would have taken the same mount as any small ring Mauser. One of my lists shows the Husqvarna small ring takes 111 front and 51C rear. But, of course, the Husqvarna does not have the clip hump that is on the Swede and the Mexican, etc. The Swedes started showing up on the American market in the early 60's and were quite popular so it makes sense scope mounts would have been made for them.
