Help with 2400 pistol powder
Well, I ran out of H-2400 and purchased Alliant 2400 by the new vendor at Radford Arsenal that got the contract to produce this among other propellents for the military...this powder seems to be a totally different compound. I mean in my .44mag, I have used 2400 for over 40 years and loved it..but this new version of 2400 shoots hotter,ie,must reduce the loads and not as accurate. Is anyone else having this problem? I would love to find some old Hercules 2400, but alas it seems it is gone forever.

maybe you should post this in the reloading forum instead of the black powder forum, this is for muzzlelading mostly.............. 0 -
Thanks, I did not see a reloading forum. 0 -
Switch to H110. You'll like it. You can also still get Dupont 4227, but I've pretty much switched to loading all my 44 Mags and 454 Casull to 110. 0
