I'm selling an old Martini (over 50 years old) with a new .222 Remington barrel. Prospective buyers are telling me it's a C&R. Is it? If you say "yes", please post an ATF reference.

    Thanks

No. As it has been modified from its original configuration, it is no longer C&R eligible.

It's not a C&R. From the ATF: "...a firearm must be in its original configuration to be considered a C&R".

My rifle has a new replacement barrel.

    That's correct. It's no longer a collector's item.

If you had replaced the barrel with a new barrel of the same caliber and configuration, it would still be C&R but as you have stated, it is no longer the same configuration.
