AR-15 shopping basics II.
Boy! How we can go ten posts and the last guy, Rsnyder55, just nails it.
If you want a rattle-battle or even "pretty accurate" AR-15 platform find a barrel/upper/rifle that is 5.56mm. I pretty much recommend this across the board. You don't get that much accuracy enhancement with a standard .223 chamber unless everthing is the way you want it, meaning 'Custom'.
For your long range accuracy gun (and still want to say in .223/5.56) go with a .223 Wylde chamber. Or, as noted, with a custom throat and barrel to accomodate exactly what you are doing.
One other point. For accuracy, I also recommend getting a free floated fore-end/barrel instead of the 'standard front grips'.

I almost always go with the 223 Wylde chamber. Especially in my 16 inch barreled medium, and heavy weight barreled upper's. I have two from RRA, one varmint, heavy bull, and one preditor persuit, medium weight. They are 1 in 8 twist. They absolutely love the Hornady 68 HPBT match bullets, and the Barnes 62, and 70 grain TSX. The TSX will shoot 1/2-3/4 MOA out to 300 yards, or more, depending on wind, and how well I can account for the wind. Those TSX bullets are great for just about any game, up to, and including Whitetail deer.
Has anyone tried that new CFE223 powder yet, besides me?
