Bushnell Banner scope
Can anyone tell me when Bushnell quit making the banner scopes in Japan? I have a Bushnell Banner 4X12 with the bullet drop compensator and the prismatic rangefinder features and was wondering where it was made as I can't see anything on the scope tube. I have had the scope since the early 80's. Any info is appreciated. Terrill

I can't say absolutely regard your scope. U.S. law though requires imported manufactured products to be marked with the country of origin. If it isn't so marked chances it was made/assembled in the U.S. Most all large importers are careful to adhere to the U.S. laws regarding C o O.
Other then a G.I. or a tourist bring one home in their personal effects, don't see how a Japanese made scope would show up over here without C o O.0 -
If you still have the original box, it should say it on there. While most people don't save the original boxes their scopes come in I save all mine. They are nice to have especially if you sell them at a later date. 0 -

I felt pretty confident that the Banners from the early '80s were all made in Japan. Most had 'BL' and 'Japan' embossed into the tube. Maybe sometime before they quit making them in Japan, they started putting japan stickers on them instead of it being embossed. If that is the case, yours could still be made in Japan and has just lost the sticker someplace along the line.
If I'm not mistaken, after Japan, Banners have been manufactured in Korea, then Philipines and now of course China.
You'd be hard pressed to find any Bushnell product made in the USA.
