Marlin 57M underlever
Has anyone got one of these, or know of them & can you point me in the right direction? are they reliable, accurate ? any problems to look for?
I have seen a nice rifle & it must be quite rare, it is in good condition.

Make sure it functions OK, prior to purchase. They haven't been made in 40+ years. If something malfunctions or breaks, replacement parts might be a problem. Best if possible to test fire for function and accuracy, before forking over the pounds. 0 -
I believe there is a steel receiver version and an alloy type. The alloy came first and I've seen a few cracked, I'd go with a steel. They seem like well made, reliable and accurate 22s. 0 -
Sir: I have the Marlin 57M with the steel receiver in .22 mag. This gun has served me well over the years. dfletcher is correct about the alloy receiver cracking. I put a 4x Weaver post and cross hair scope on mine and the Coyotes just hate it when I'm carrying it. 0 -
Dan it has the alloy reciever....fancied that too, never mind i found a miroku ml-22, better still [:)]
