Help with ID: Browning Superposed 20g Grade IV
I just acquired this beautiful Browning Over/Under shotgun and I just want to verify its identity. I believe it is a Superposed Grade IV. The engraving is signed VAN LAAR and has foxes on one side and dogs on the other. It came with 2 sets of 20g barrels, one longer than the other. Please check out these pictures. Any input and/or estimates of value would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I don't know beans about the engraving or the shotgun. Although it appears to be first class.
To maximize it's resale value I would have the stock restored as much as possible. To get rid of the pad and replace it with a authentic FN/Browning butt plate.
Who ever had a Pachmayr pad but on a shotgun like that, must have been a imbecile.0 -
Browning now offers letters. I would recommend getting one. They are in the $40 range. 0 -
Full agreement on the aftermarket recoil pad. Get the proper Browning buttplate. Beautiful engraving! GHS 0 -
I suspect the stock has been shortened in order to add the pad. Getting it to look original may be a problem. 0
