  Probably 1990.

  This may not help too much, but I have number 08697xxx which I bought new in May of 1994.

  Mine is SN '045927xx and it has factory Price List in the box dated April '94, so it was probably made shortly after that.
  
  If you look at this Google Doc, it shows how to look up barrel markings (if it has stamping) to see Mfg date. (not my document - I just point you to it.)
