Balvar 8 scope mount Winchester 70
I recently purchased a pre 64 winchester model 70 with a B&L Balvar 8 scope package. It was dissassembled for shipping and when I got it seemed to be missing parts. I have two bases, and a pencil shaped rod with the scope mounts, with a notched end on one side and a flat tab on the other - no other parts. Does anyone have a close-up picture of this assembly?? Should there be additional parts?
I apoligize for my ignorance and thanks for the help in advance!

Doesn't appear to be correct to me? Years ago I had one, believe the mount was one piece. Both Kauharsky, ( doubt if I spelled that right), & B & L made the mounts.
Best place to find photos would be on fleabay, always seem to be some for sale.0 -
Scope is part of the mounting system; that is, ring assembly must be on scope to attach ring assembly to bases.
Pencil-shaped rod is spring loaded, is compressed to go under one of the crossbars on the bases; other, flat, end is then slipped under other crossbar on other base.0 -
That was the key! The scope has to be mounted to the rings for the whole thing to work properly. Thanks a million. 0
