Scored tonight
Shot me a really nice 8 pt tonight. For some reason, I hit him far back. When I saw the lumknock go thru, I cringed. He ran 50 yards and stopped. Stood for 10 seconds then fell over.
I admit I got lucky. I don't know why it was as far back as it was but it worked. Been shooting my broadheads for a week and no problems L-R.
I'd watched him at one corner of the field, enter the timber, come out the other side of the field, then slowly feed the 250 yards to me. He was with a tall forky and a button.
25 yard shot. Died in the bean field.
I'll post pics hopefully tomorrow or Wed. Gotta grind tomorrow.
He's not my biggest but my biggest bow kill. Thinking hard about him on the wall.
I have a shotgun, black powder, and handgun. He is smaller than those but still a very nice buck.
I am very proud of him.

Get those pics up soon! [:D]0 -
Good deal! Glad you were able to connect on a good buck.
I hope to get out as soon as time permits.0 -
Good deal cheif. Cant wait to see the pictures. I have not bow hunted in three years since my reconstructive back surgery, but Iam ready to get back into the game soon. My wife is just scared I might fall out of the tree and get hurt again. 0 -

I do apologize for the blood on the deer and my arms but it was raining and my help and photographer had to hurry up and get back home.

Buy a good harness and she won't have to worry. [;)]

Way to go Chief! Nice buck. I've seen you post pics of that "blind" before. Can't believe it works! Awesome! 0 -
I tried getting my other 2 guys to go with me last night. That buck walked past the two tree stands we have on the property. if either one of them would of went, I'd be posting their pics.
At least they helped me get him in the truck. [:D]0 -
Good shooting! I would not hesitate to put that buck on the wall. Great way to start the season. Ours opens here in Virginia this coming Saturday. I hit one years ago that was too far back and he ran a few yards and fell over. Turned out it was a liver hit. They don't go far with a liver hit. Once again, great job on a great buck. Congrats!

Good hunt and nice pictures! 0 -
After much deliberation, I just dropped him off at the taxidermist. I'm running out of wall space but I regret not getting the nine done last year so I'm making myself feel better with this one. [:D] 0 -
