Winchester 1894 Short Rifle?????
Had a friend bring me a Winchester 94 to sell for him. sn# 450XXX 20" full octagon, full magazine, curved metal butt plate in 30 WCF. Front site looks changed but rear original with elevator. Bore worn, dark but shootable. Mechanics are tight and function properly. Wood looks original not sanded with a nice fit but is dried out and could use a good oiling.
After doing some research I'm convinced this is a so call "short rifle".
Forearm wood measure 8 3/8 and I pulled of the forearm cap to make sure there was no extra dovetails.
Is there anything else I can do to confirm it's authenticity as a Short rifle?

Crappy pictures. Show the entire rifle from front to back, both sides. 0 -
Back in the day you could order short barrel Winchesters from the factory. A friend has some down to 14". 0
